America 250. Nationwide Shabbat!! BAMIDBAR: "In the wilderness."

May 16, 2026    Pastor Teacher Pedro Perez Jr., Peter Perez III

For the first time in American history, there has been a public national call connected to America’s 250th anniversary encouraging the observance of Shabbat - the biblical Sabbath.

President Trump’s recent “Rededicate 250” proclamation has encouraged Jewish Americans, messianic believers and many Christians to take a moment to publicly proclaim that we are observing the Shabbat and that it is a blessing!

We as a congregation are joining this move of God today to honor God and his commandments, to help others rediscover the biblical roots of the Sabbath and the importance of the rest God gives us, especially through Yeshua, the importance of worshipping, and returning to God.

What is Shabbat?

Shabbat is the biblical Sabbath established by God at creation on the seventh day, from Friday evening to Saturday evening (Genesis 2:2–3).

It is the Fourth Commandment: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Exodus 20:8)

Jesus, also known as Yeshua, His disciples, and the early believers observed Shabbat regularly. It’s true! (Luke 4:16; Acts 13:42–44).

Shabbat is a gift from God! A time to:

✅ Rest from the stress and chaos of the world .

✅ Spend time with family.

✅ Worship and pray.

✅ Eat together.

✅ Read Scripture.

✅ Slow down and reconnect with God.

In a culture filled with burnout, anxiety, division, and constant distraction… America needs Shabbat more than ever!
