Annual Hanukkah Torch Relay Run

A beautiful tradition carried by Jewish communities for generations — and now carried through our city as a living testimony.
We run to remember the perseverance of God’s people, the restoration of the Temple, and the Light that could not be extinguished.
We run because Jesus Himself declared, “I am the Light of the world.”
Come cheer, participate, or walk alongside us as a sign of unity and faith.
 December 14–22
Menorah Lighting & Fellowship Evenings

Each night we light another candle, remembering how God sustained His people and how Jesus fills our spiritual lamps today.
Short message connecting the Hanukkah story to Jesus
Warm fellowship, refreshments, and community
A peaceful space for families, friends, and new visitors to learn
Everyone is welcome — even if you’ve never celebrated Hanukkah before.
 Friday, December 19
Story Night: The Story of Hanukkah
Read by Kaeloni Perez — Enacted by Peter Perez III & Co.
A dramatic and interactive retelling of the Maccabean story — courage, faith, miracles, and the light that kept burning.
Perfect for families and youth, but loved by adults too!
We explore how this historical moment points forward to Jesus, the True Deliverer and the One who purifies our hearts like the Temple of old.
 Saturday, December 20
Creative Activity Day: Make Your Own Menorah
A hands-on experience for all ages!
Create a menorah to take home as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and the miracle of enduring light.
This activity helps us talk about dedication, restoration, and how Jesus brings renewed purpose into our lives — just as the Temple was rededicated, so we dedicate ourselves to Him.
 Sunday, December 21
Taste of Tradition: Jewish Cultural Foods Experience
Journey through flavors that tell a story.
Explore Sephardic and Crypto-Jewish dishes and discover the rich connections between Jewish heritage and our own cultural roots in South Texas — more intertwined than most people realize.
Each tasting comes with a short explanation of its history, symbolism, and how ultimately all of it points to Jesus, our Passover Lamb, our Light, and our Redeemer.
A perfect day to invite friends who are curious about the Jewishness of Jesus and the faith we share.
